Fair here is quite early in the year, as far as fairs go! It's always the 3rd week in May, before it gets too terribly hot and before school lets out. However, the entire county does shut down for 5 days so everyone can go. We took the kids on opening evening, where rides, hot dogs, and root beer were 25 cents each. Cheap entertainment, I say! Caitie's first ride was on this old-school fish ride that dips up and down. She felt sick and they actually stopped the ride for her. (I did not include pictures of this ride!) But she and Brie had a blast on the cars and rode a couple of times. We rode on this pseudo-Dumbo ride too, which was pretty fun.
We had a great time visiting all the animals and the kids were thrilled to pet some of them and talk to their owners. Hard to believe Caitlyn is almost old enough to be a Junior 4H-er. Now that we have chickens we'll see about doing that next year. But that's next year!!
Caitie entered a couple of things this year: a photo she took of the sunset, and a picture of a momma robin with her eggs. She got blue ribbons for both! Here she is pointing to her robin picture. She was so thrilled!
We did not jump any frogs this year. I was not up to standing in a 2-hour line with 3 little kids in the hot sun. Maybe next year!
